Are you about to start your US tourist visa process? Available appointment dates vary at the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Mexico. While some have nearly immediate appointments, others have waiting times of months.
We have provided the calendar with new dates for processing the US visa for the first time, according to the Official Visa Appointment Service. If you want your appointment faster, choose a consulate with closer appointment dates.

Also, keep in mind that once your visa is approved, it will take two to four weeks to arrive, so plan your trip in advance.
Steps to process your US tourist visa
1. Passport. Before applying for the visa, you must have a valid Mexican passport. Keep in mind that the cost of the passport increased this year. You can make the appointment by phone, online, or via WhatsApp.
2. Fill out the DS-160 form. This form is the most important step. In it, you will provide personal information that will help the US government decide whether or not you are eligible to obtain the visa. The form has 13 sections where you will be asked about your personal, work, and family life.
3. Make the appointment for the interview and fingerprints, and pay the visa fee. After filling out the DS-160 form, you must create a user account on the Official Visa Appointment Service. You will need an email address and the ID that the form generated for you.
There, you will be provided with the information to pay for the visa. Once the payment is reflected, the system will give you access to appointment dates. You will first choose the appointment at the VAC for the photograph and fingerprinting. And then, if you are a candidate, the day of your interview. You will also select the method and place of delivery for your visa.
4. Go to the VAC for photography and fingerprinting. On the day you have selected, you must appear at the Applicant Service Center so they can take your fingerprints and digital photograph.
5. Attend the interview. This step is mandatory for people applying for the visa for the first time, or those who did not renew it within 12 months of its expiration.
6. Pick up your visa. Once your visa has been approved, there is no exact delivery date because the verification and printing time varies according to each applicant. Although on average it is 2 to 4 weeks after the interview with the consular officer.
There are two ways to pick it up. The first is to go get it at the Applicant Service Center; the department will notify you by email when it is ready. Or it can be sent to you by courier for an extra cost.
