If you were waiting for registration for Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro in October 2026, there is an important change: the Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) reported that the platform would not open this month for new enrollments.
"In compliance with the targeting strategy, the Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) informs that the Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro Program will not open the Platform this month of October and the next enrollment period will be announced in due course," the STPS announced in a statement.
Following this news, several questions arose among those interested in joining said program, so President Claudia Sheinbaum spoke about the subject in her morning conference on October 5.
There she explained why registrations were suspended and announced until what date enrollments will be available on the platform.
Why were Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro registrations suspended in 2026?
The STPS initially reported that the Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro platform would not open during October due to a “targeting strategy”.
At that time, the agency indicated that it would later announce the next enrollment period and asked interested people to stay tuned to their official channels.
However, Sheinbaum explained the situation in greater detail and confirmed that it will remain so for the rest of 2026, because the program practically met the target for attention planned for this year.
"There will be no new enrollments between now and December; there are already enough young people in the program; they will start again in January, but it is not that the program is suspended, but rather that the goal was practically met," she said.
The president clarified that this does not mean that Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro is suspended or disappearing; it is a pause in new enrollments.
When will Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro registrations return?
New registrations for Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro will return in January 2027.
What happens to the young people who are already enrolled?
The pause in new registrations does not mean that people who are already incorporated into the program automatically lose their support.
Who can register for Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro?
The program is aimed at young people between 18 and 29 years old who neither study nor work and who seek to gain experience through training in a workplace. Training can be carried out in companies, businesses, workshops, or other participating work units.
