The IMSS explains that the Fund seeks to bring the pension closer to the average salary of the last year contributed, up to a limit of $17,885.85 per month. This amount is updated annually in accordance with expected inflation.

How many contributed weeks are needed in 2026 to access the Fund supplement?

For IMSS workers seeking to access the supplement, the Institute indicates a minimum criterion of: 875 contributed weeks.

Do I have to request the Pension Fund supplement?

In the case of the IMSS, you are not required to submit a separate application. The Institute notes that the eligibility analysis is performed automatically during the old-age pension application process.

Who does NOT receive the $17,885 pesos from the Fund?

Not all pensioners are entitled to the supplement. Among those who do not receive this benefit are:

  • Estar bajo el régimen de cuentas individuales
  • Cumplir las condiciones para pensionarte por vejez
