The FBI asserted this Tuesday that the letter apparently signed by pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, in which he appears to reference the President of the United States, Donald Trump, is fake, as the handwriting does not match Epstein's and the return address does not correspond to the prison where the tycoon was held.

The missive, part of the Epstein case files released Tuesday by the Department of Justice, was supposedly addressed to sexual offender and former US gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar, and although it does not explicitly include Trump's name, it mentions the interest of "our president" in "grabbing" young women.

"Dear L.N. As you already know, I've taken the 'short road' home. Good luck! We share one thing... our love and care for young girls and the hope that they reach their full potential. Our president also shares our love for young and attractive girls," the handwritten document details.

"When a beautiful young woman walked by, he loved to 'grab snatch' (manosearlas), while we end up eating in the (penitentiary) system's mess halls. Life is unfair," the signer concludes.

The Department of Justice, citing the FBI, has denied the veracity of this document for three reasons, the first being that "the handwriting does not match that of Jeffrey Epstein."

At the same time, it asserts that "the letter had a postmark dated three days after his death, originating in northern Virginia, when he was incarcerated in New York," and, finally, that "the return address did not correspond to the prison where Epstein was held and did not include his inmate number," which according to the Department of Justice "is required for outgoing mail."

"This fake letter serves as a reminder that the fact that a document is published by the Department of Justice does not mean that the accusations or claims it contains are true," the prosecutor's office stated on social media.

¿Quién es Larry Nassar?

The envelope was allegedly sent to Nassar, who was a doctor for the U.S. national gymnastics team and is serving a 60-year sentence for sexual abuse and child pornography following accusations made by more than 150 women and girls.

The Department of Justice has been releasing huge amounts of declassified documents regarding Epstein since Friday, based on a law passed by Congress in November.

Trump, who initially did not want to support the release of the files and later had to rectify and sign the law after verifying the strong support from Congress, appears numerous times in the documentation of the case regarding the man who was his friend and with whom he said he cut ties in 2004, before Epstein was first accused of child abuse and prostitution.
