A tire sales business in the state of Washington has reported that an agent from Immigration and Customs Enforcement () entered the premises pretending to be a customer to get a worker of Mexican origin to come out and look at a vehicle where other agents were waiting to arrest him.

“They kidnapped one of our own. YES, KIDNAPPED. They didn't ask for his name, his age, or anything like that. They arrived pretending to be customers asking for tires and wheels,” denounced TOS Wheels & Tires on its social media regarding the incident that occurred last Saturday in Lynnwood, located north of Seattle.

The detained employee has been identified as Christopher Ruiz de Jesus, a 26-year-old Mexican immigrant. The worker was inside the shop, where his fiancée, Jade Gaspar, also works.

A video from the establishment's security cameras was released to the public by the business, showing how Ruiz leaves the establishment with the excuse of checking the customer's vehicle to determine what kind of tires it used, when three agents corner him and detain him.

It is also observed how the alleged customer covers his face with a ski mask, generally used by ICE agents to avoid being identified.

Gaspar told the FOX network that her fiancé has lived in the US since he was 5 years old and has no criminal record, something that the business also highlighted.

The couple has a one-year-old son, who relies solely on him for financial support.

ICE operations have been under scrutiny for making arrests at businesses without having arrest warrants.

Last week, immigration authorities were unable to make arrests at a construction site in Madera, California, after a supervisor questioned the agents' authority to enter the workplace, in a video that went viral on social media. EFE
