The woman who died this Monday in New York after being stabbed in a random act in the tourist area of Times Square was identified as Erin Piacenti, and she worked for Bank of America, the banking institution confirmed.
"We are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. She was a highly valued member of our team and will be greatly missed," the bank stated in a message sent to EFE.
"Our thoughts are with her family and all her loved ones," the note adds.
Erin Piacenti, 32, held the position of business vice president at the bank in New York and was stabbed in the abdomen by Pamela Cisneros, dying shortly after at a city hospital.

Piacenti resided in New Jersey and had celebrated her second wedding anniversary on August 10, according to media reports.
Cisneros, who had a history of mental health issues according to authorities, also stabbed a 68-year-old man who is recovering from his injuries and has not yet been identified.
The attacker died at the hands of police, who shot her after she refused to drop the two knives she used to assault her victims and threatened the officers, as reported by Commissioner Jessica Tisch in a press conference following the incident, which occurred shortly after 4 p.m.
According to police, Cisneros had already faced incidents with police in 2018 and 2019, but without any arrests.
The incident caused police to close one of the main subway entrances in Times Square and shut down several streets to traffic while the investigation was underway, causing large crowds of people and cars in an already congested area.
