After a TV Azteca reporter located Tabasco businessman Jorge Amílcar Olán Aparicio, Ricardo Salinas Pliego offered him a space on his television network to tell his side and, in the businessman's words, “save your family.”
“Save your family. I can send TV Azteca cameras so you have the opportunity to tell your side and defend yourself. It is not fair that they end up like this with you and your family… If you decide that you want to rescue something from all of this that is definitely already lost, look for us,” wrote Salinas Pliego on X.

During the morning press conference on Monday, September 28, President Claudia Sheinbaum explained that the Attorney General's Office must open an investigation into Jorge Amílcar Olán Aparicio if there is evidence linking him to a crime and not just because a media outlet points him out.
“Anyone who has evidence, the Attorney General's Office, of any illegality, must open an investigation folder, but not because TV Azteca says so, but because there is evidence that actually links him to a crime... and if there are sufficient elements from the investigation, have a judge request what is appropriate, but it is not a claim by a media outlet,” said the president.
Where was Amílcar Olán located?
According to reporter Irving Pineda, from TV Azteca, businessman Amílcar Olán Aparicio is in Lugano, Switzerland, where he lives with his wife, children, and a domestic worker.
The journalist reported that they found his home thanks to an anonymous call and asserted that the businessman from Tabasco is “hiding” and rarely leaves his house. Furthermore, he stated that he had to wait seven days to see him again in the same place where he had seen him for the first time.
Pineda intercepted Olán Aparicio outside his home to try to obtain a statement. As seen in the video shared on his social media, the businessman, who was walking with his children, tried to walk away and subsequently threatened the reporter with calling the police. Olán even attempts to take the recording equipment and it appears they struggle.
What has Amílcar Olán been accused of?
Jorge Amílcar Olán Aparicio has been accused of allegedly benefiting from his closeness to Andrés Manuel López Beltrán, son of former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to obtain public contracts with Morena governments.
The businessman has also been linked to the sale of medicines to the governments of Tlaxcala, Sonora, and Tabasco, as well as the supply of ballast for the Interoceanic Train and the Maya Train. In addition, he has recently been pointed out in relation to the so-called fiscal huachicol (fuel theft), after a complaint was filed against Portacelis Gas and Oil, a company with which he has been linked.
