United States President Donald Trump, threatened Canada this Monday with "worse" consequences if its leaders do not "get in line" in the midst of a trade war over the imposition of tariffs on Canadian products.

"Someone should make these clowns 'get in line' or the consequences for Canada will be much worse!", the president wrote on his Truth Social network.
Trump lashed out at the Canadian politicians who have stood up to American demands and stated that "without the United States, Canada could not survive."
"(...) that is where they get all their money and, because of their current bad leadership —mainly Governor Carney and his lackey, Ford—, they will not be allowed to continue taking advantage of the United States: their key to survival," he added.
In addition to the Canadian prime minister, Mark Carney, the attacks in the president's message were directed at the premier of the Canadian province of Ontario, Doug Ford, of whom he wrote that he is "better known as the brother —less charismatic, less intelligent and, overall, unimpressive— of the late and great Rob Ford."
Trump unleashed all his artillery against the leaders and also against the neighboring country, "The United States has been carrying Canada for decades, but that's over! The U.S. will always be much bigger, richer, and stronger than Canada."
"Remember that a large part of the electricity, oil, and gas that Canada receives is transported through the U.S.", the president asserted on a Monday marked by tension between both countries.
A few hours before this message, Trump announced new 50% tariffs on vehicles and steel coming from Canada starting in January 2027, in addition to those that went into effect on Saturday, in a new escalation of the trade war. EFE
