United States President Donald Trump hinted this Sunday that he would build a swimming pool in the space currently occupied by the White House press room, amid his new offensive against the media.
The Republican posted an image on his Truth Social network divided in two: a photograph of the current press room, accompanied by the message "before," and a recreation of a swimming pool with the text "after."
Above the first image, the message "fake news" also appears, while the recreated pool, decorated with the characteristic gold ornaments that Trump likes, would be dedicated to former President Franklin D. Roosevelt (1933-1945).
The current White House press room has been in operation since 1970 and was built over the former indoor swimming pool that Roosevelt ordered to be installed in 1933.
Trump's message comes amid his new offensive against the press, after he blocked CNN, MSNBC, and the newspaper Politico from accessing the White House last week, dissatisfied with their coverage of his administration.
A judge ordered on Thursday that the media regain their access to the White House after they reported a violation of freedom of speech, protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
However, Trump excluded CNN on Saturday from traveling aboard the presidential plane Air Force One during a flight to Tennessee, even though the network was in charge, by rotating turn, of taking and distributing the images of the trip to the rest of the media.
