Mexican driver Sergio 'Checo' Pérez celebrated his contract renewal with the Formula 1 Cadillac team until the year 2029 this Wednesday during a 'Show Run' held in Mexico City.
"Joining the Cadillac Formula 1 team from day one was a project I truly believed in, and extending my commitment feels like a natural continuation of this chapter," the driver stated.
'Checo' starred in the 'Show Run' held on Paseo de la Reforma Avenue, the main thoroughfare of the Mexican capital, which he traveled between the Angel of Independence monument roundabout and the Diana the Huntress fountain, in front of thousands of fans who cheered him on.

"Building a Formula 1 team from scratch takes time, constant work, and patience, but the progress we are making together is incredibly rewarding. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, and I am fully committed for the next three years," he emphasized.
Sergio Pérez traveled the avenue aboard a modified Formula 2 race car, wearing the colors of Cadillac, the team with which he will race this Sunday at the Mexico Grand Prix in search of the first points for his team in the Formula 1 championship.
Halfway through his second lap, at the Angel of Independence roundabout, 'Checo' did some donuts with his race car; then, amidst the smoke generated by the tires, he got out of the vehicle, took off his gloves and helmet, and approached the people who had been gathered since dawn.
Pérez took the time to sign caps, photos, flags, and various items featuring his image, much to the euphoria of his fans.
"Time passes very quickly and these moments are unrepeatable. Preparation and discipline have been fundamental; it's not just about driving the car, it's many weeks of preparation to compete with the best in the world in Formula 1. Thank you all for being here, you are the reason I returned to Formula 1," he concluded.
At this Sunday's Grand Prix, 'Checo' will celebrate his 300th race in the series.
Clara Brugada, Head of Government of Mexico City, was also present at the 'Show Run'.
