FC Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal was awarded the Kopa Trophy for the best player under 21 on Monday during the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony held in London.

For the Barça prodigy, a World Cup winner with Spain and a La Liga champion with the Blaugrana side, this is his third Kopa Trophy, which he received from former Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko.

"I would have liked for (Pau) Cubarsí, my teammate, to be here; he would have deserved it," declared Yamal regarding the Barcelona and national team center-back.

Lamine Yamal also aspires to win the Ballon d'Or.

The women's Kopa Trophy went to fellow Barcelona and Spanish national team player Vicky López, who had already won it in 2025.
