Thomas Tuchel, manager of England, revealed that English fans do not ask him about the substitutions or the tactical shifts he made in the final against Argentina; instead, they talk to him about the match between Mexico and England at Estadio Azteca, among other important moments the English team experienced during the World Cup.
"I'll tell you something: like 99.9% of fans don't talk about the substitutions or the tactical shifts [I made against Argentina]. They talk about where they watched the match against Mexico, they talk about the second half of the match against Croatia and the energy, they talk about how stressful it was to watch our match against Congo and where they celebrated it," said Tuchel.
Tuchel also highlighted that the World Cup served precisely to connect people and gift them unforgettable experiences.
"That's how it should be, that's what a World Cup is for: to connect with people and provide them with experiences they will never forget. And these are the comments I receive," he noted.
What did Thomas Tuchel say about Mexico vs. England?
This is not the first time Thomas Tuchel has expressed his emotion regarding the match between both national teams. Previously, the manager revealed that he regretted not having eaten a bit of the grass at Estadio Azteca to take the experience of the match with him.
"I sent a message to a friend after the match and I just wrote: 'I regret not having eaten a bit of the grass after the match to keep some of this in my body forever.' That was the feeling. That was the moment," revealed Tuchel.
