When is the next long weekend in Mexico?
The next school long weekend will be from October 30 to November 2, 2026, for preschool, primary, and middle school students in public and private schools incorporated into the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP).
This long weekend is formed by two dates on the SEP calendar:
- Viernes 30 de octubre: sesión del Consejo Técnico Escolar (CTE).
- Lunes 2 de noviembre: suspensión de labores docentes con motivo del Día de Muertos.
What long weekends will there be in November 2026?
November will have several dates of interest for those looking for a break, although the conditions are different for workers and students.
- Puente por la Revolución Mexicana: del 14 al 16 de noviembre
Monday, November 16, 2026, will be a mandatory day of rest for workers subject to the Federal Labor Law (LFT), in commemoration of the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution.
Thus, those who are off on Saturdays and Sundays will be able to have a long weekend from Saturday, November 14, to Monday, November 16.

On Friday, November 27, an ordinary session of the School Technical Council will be held, according to the SEP calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.
Is November 2 an official holiday in Mexico?
November 2 is a traditional date to commemorate the Day of the Dead, but it is not a mandatory day of rest for workers.
However, the 2026-2027 SEP school calendar does provide for the suspension of teaching duties for that date. Therefore, many basic education students will be able to enjoy the break, although workers must check their company's policies.
Is November 20, 2026, a workday?
Friday, November 20, 2026, is the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution, but the mandatory day of rest for workers is moved to Monday, November 16, in accordance with Article 74 of the Federal Labor Law; that is to say, November 20 is a workday.
