A judge ordered preventive detention for Diego Sebastián ‘N’ and Gerardo ‘N’, who are accused of the multiple homicide of Jonathan ‘Honas’ Meléndez, keyboardist for Camilo Séptimo, as well as his wife, his three-year-old daughter, and a domestic worker.
Both will remain under this measure while the investigation continues into the events that took place at a residence in Atizapán, State of Mexico.

According to the latest reports, during the hearing, the Public Prosecutor's Office presented between 60 and 70 pieces of evidence regarding the multiple homicide and maintained that Diego ‘N’, who was allegedly a business partner of the musician, was looking for a “cold wallet” that supposedly contained at least 3.5 million dollars in bitcoins.
According to the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico, after obtaining the electronic keys for the cryptocurrencies, several transfers were made to Spain, one of which was allegedly made to Diego ‘N’'s wife, Paola Mandri.

The investigation also indicates that the defendant allegedly offered 2 million pesos to Gerardo ‘N’, his accomplice, for helping him obtain the money.
Authorities also noted that items related to the crime were allegedly found in the vehicle used for the escape, including tape and plastic zip ties, which are presumed to have been purchased by Gerardo ‘N’ prior to the massacre under the orders of the alleged killer.
The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico attributes to the two detainees the crimes of aggravated homicide of four people, termination of pregnancy, and mistreatment and cruelty to animals, as Ana Paula Barragán was four months pregnant and one of the family's pets also died during the events.

Another element taken into account in the investigation is the possible use of a pistol with a silencer, a hypothesis that authorities are handling because neighbors in the area did not report hearing the series of shots that killed the family.
According to statements attributed to the suspects, the weapon was allegedly disassembled and thrown into a ravine; this information has not yet been confirmed in the authorities' official statements.
What comes next for those allegedly responsible for the multiple homicide?
Diego Sebastián ‘N’ and Gerardo ‘N’ could face sentences of between 25 and 70 years in prison for each homicide, according to preliminary data, as well as penalties for the other crimes attributed to them by the Prosecutor's Office.
However, so far they are only accused individuals and it will be the judicial authority that determines their responsibility. It will be in the next hearing on Wednesday, September 9, that it will be determined whether the accused are bound over for trial or not. For now, the suspects remain at the Barrientos Prison in Tlalnepantla de Baz.
