Two people were arrested on Wednesday after climbing an antenna at the top of the Empire State Building in New York for an apparent marriage proposal.
The couple, dressed in black and with their faces covered, unfurled a banner at the top of the 443-meter building that read: "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."
"Two individuals were taken into custody without incident. There are no reports of injuries. Charges are pending, and the investigation is ongoing," a spokesperson for the New York Police Department told AFP.
The man got down on one knee and appeared to propose to the woman, before they kissed and hugged.
The Empire State Building has an observation deck open to the public, but access to higher points is prohibited.
It is not yet clear how the couple reached the antenna.
