President Donald Trump said on Friday that war with Iran is a "piece of cake" for the United States, a day after Vice President JD Vance stated that he would not describe the conflict as a war.

"Many people don't call it a war. I call it a military conflict because for us it is small. It's not a big thing. First we dealt with Venezuela and now this," Trump told reporters when asked about Vance's comments.
"I don't think the way we label it matters. What matters is that we have been very successful. We have prevented Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon," he emphasized.
According to the president, the United States is carrying out "targeted strikes" to deactivate any possibility of Iran rearming itself to become a threat in the region again.
After a month of calm, clashes between Washington and Tehran resumed on Sunday at the initiative of the US military, which said it wanted to prevent rockets loaded with naval mines from being fired in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran responded by attacking its Gulf neighbors, as it has since the beginning of the conflict sparked by a US-Israeli offensive at the end of February.
The rise in fuel prices linked to the war threatens to cost Donald Trump's Republicans their majority in Congress in the November midterm elections.
