United States President Donald Trump warned critics of artificial intelligence and data centers that he will not allow the "destruction" of the industry.
The president rejects the growing skepticism among society toward AI, fueled in recent weeks by warnings about the dangers this technology poses to humanity.
He stated that liberals want the "total destruction of AI."
"I, as President of the United States, will not stand by and let this happen," he wrote on his Truth Social platform.
"We are not going to impede or stifle in any way the growth of this incredible industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and monitor it, as it grows!" he added.
The president announced, without giving further details, the creation of a government "AI Force" that will have the mission to "seek out the BAD" actors.
Trump announced this measure despite polls showing that Americans largely oppose the construction of data centers, which are vital for AI, due to their high energy consumption.
