Donald Trump has once again raised alarms regarding his health after he was recently seen having “difficulty” staying awake during a meeting in the Oval Office at the White House. What is going on with the president of the United States? Is he sick?
On social media, clips of the president have gone viral in the middle of a meeting with his team, where he spoke about the arrival of the Essar Group conglomerate to the United States to build a steel plant, the largest plant in the country which will cost around 15 million dollars.

While the conversation continued around the industrialization plans of the company Mesabi Metallics, voiced by Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Trump was seen tilting his head forward and closing his eyes, as if he were dozing off.
Subsequently, while Mesabi chairman Rewat Ruia was speaking, Donald Trump appeared to fight against his heavy eyelids, opening and closing his eyes intermittently.
After the videos of the president went viral, social media users accused him of falling asleep in the middle of important news for the economy of the United States and mocked him just as Trump once did with former president Joe Biden when he would fall asleep at political events.
It is worth remembering that at the time, Trump questioned Biden's health, as well as his energy, physical condition, and alertness; Trump famously nicknamed Biden as "Sleepy Joe Biden." Now, even the son of the former president, Hunter Biden, uses similar comments and mockery to question Trump's well-being and his ability to carry out his term.
“Who is the sleepy one now?”, wrote Biden's son on X, attaching a photo of the president with his eyes closed.
Although the clips and screenshots where Trump closes his eyes went viral on social media, the full images from the White House show that the president was responding to the guests' comments and talking about the steel plant that will soon arrive in Iowa, which he classified as the “largest in the United States.”
On previous occasions, Trump was also the object of ridicule by California Governor Gavin Newsom, who called him Don the Dazed because he has lately been seen dissociating or sleeping during public events or meetings at the White House.
For his part, American commentator and businessman Brian Krassenstein has criticized him for falling asleep or appearing disinterested in his public appearances, such as the recent one at the White House, the solemn September 11th ceremony, the funeral of politician Lindsey Graham, and the NBA finals game.
“I have no doubt that Donald Trump fell asleep several times today. He is simply tired, just as we are all tired of him,” he wrote on X.
A CNN expert suggested that Trump suffers from “severe daytime sleepiness” that could increase his risk of suffering from dementia. However, it has been Trump himself who has denied health problems, saying that his biannual checkups have come back “perfectly fine.”
