A supermarket manager in Puebla, Mexico, was recognized for his quick reaction after rescuing a little girl who ended up in the middle of traffic on a busy road.

Security cameras at Super King El Rey del Ahorro captured the moment the child ran onto the avenue with vehicles driving by, while a car was approaching.

Upon noticing the danger, the manager identified as Luis Cruz reacted quickly and ran after the girl to pull her out of the path and prevent her from being struck by the vehicle.

The footage shows the tense seconds in which Cruz intervenes to get the child to safety.

Manager receives a 20,000 peso prize

After the rescue, the supermarket publicly recognized Luis Cruz's actions and highlighted his speed in responding to the dangerous situation.

As recognition for his action, Cruz received a prize of 20,000 pesos and was named Manager of the Year.

The establishment released the security camera footage on Monday, September 7, 2026, although the rescue took place the day before, on Sunday, September 6.
