The explosion of an LP gas tanker recorded this Thursday afternoon in the Las Granjas neighborhood, on 10 de Abril street, in the municipality of Cuernavaca, Morelos, left a preliminary toll of 21 injured people, six of them in critical condition, in addition to significant material damage.
According to the Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection of Cuernavaca, 32 homes were affected, with damage ranging from superficial issues to structural failures.

So far, no deaths have been reported. However, several of the injured suffered first, second, and third-degree burns, and were taken to different hospitals in the area, including the IMSS Plan de Ayala and the Regional General Hospital No. 1, where they are receiving medical attention.
Initial investigations indicate that the tanker was driving through the area when a gas leak occurred. However, authorities have yet to determine what caused the incident or disclose the name of the company that owns the unit.
It was also revealed that the drivers of the tanker fled the scene at the time of the explosion, as they were not reported among the injured, according to information from 24 Morelos.
Through her social media, the governor of Morelos, Margarita González Saravia, reported that members of the Morelos State Civil Protection Coordination and rescue teams arrived immediately to attend to the emergency.
Likewise, she asked the population to remain calm, avoid approaching the area, and follow only the information disseminated through official channels.

Various videos began to circulate on social media showing the moment of the explosion. One of them, captured by a car's dashboard camera, shows how the gas leak started before the detonation, while a vehicle became trapped in the cloud of fuel.
Other videos show the enormous column of black smoke and the flames that rose after the explosion, as well as the damage caused to nearby homes.
Images of the work carried out by Civil Protection elements and emergency crews were also released, in addition to the rescue of several dogs that were in the incident area.
