The relationship between King Charles III, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle is once again generating commentary around the British royal family. A new report indicates that the monarch is disappointed because another meeting with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, has yet to materialize, despite the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's return to the United Kingdom.
According to information published by Woman’s Day, Charles hoped to spend more time with the little ones after years of family distance. However, to date, no day has been set for the visit.
A source cited by Woman’s Day claimed that the monarch hoped the return of the Sussexes would facilitate family meetings and allow him to recover some of the time he has spent away from Archie and Lilibet.
"Charles loves being a grandfather; he may not have always been the best father, but he has adapted wonderfully to his role as a grandfather, so he is quite disappointed not to have seen more of Archie and Lili since they arrived in the UK," the informant stated.
They added that the King "hoped they would immediately start making up for lost time, but it has been the opposite." "Harry keeps promising him that the visit will happen very soon, but so far no date has been set and Charles feels very disappointed," they said.
The family members' schedules are also reportedly an important factor, as any meeting would have to be coordinated with the commitments of the King and Queen Camilla, the activities of Harry and Meghan, and the children's school schedules.
Are Harry and Meghan preventing King Charles from seeing his grandchildren?
As of now, there is no confirmed information proving that Harry and Meghan have forbidden King Charles from seeing his children.
The relationship between Harry and the royal family has gone through tensions since he and Meghan stepped back from their roles as working members of the monarchy in 2020 and moved to the United States. There have also been disagreements related to security during Harry's visits to the UK, an issue that the prince has publicly pointed to as an obstacle to traveling with his family.
