Billionaire Elon Musk has abruptly ended his relationship with Shivon Zilis, mother of four of his children and a senior executive at one of his companies, as she revealed in a statement published this Friday on social media, in which she confessed that she loved him more than life itself.
"It is difficult to go from being in love to having to let him go in a week and without prior notice, but that's how things are sometimes," wrote Zilis, director of operations and special projects at Neuralink.
The executive's statement was a response to a post on X that pointed out that Musk had stopped following her on the platform.
Zilis said she was hurt, but clarified that she cared about Musk's future and that she would always wish for his happiness.
The statement from the executive, who also worked for Tesla, was accompanied by an image that allegedly shows the last exchange of text messages between the two, which occurred last week.
The romantic relationship between the two began after the tycoon acted as a sperm donor for their twins, Strider and Azure, born in 2021.
The couple's third child, Arcadia, was born in 2024, while Seldon Lycurgus was born a year later.
Musk had other children while maintaining his relationship with Zilis. However, over the years, the executive defended their bond.
"I have loved him more than life itself; he has taught me the equivalent of a hundred lives of wisdom and has made my cup overflow with vital meaning," she confessed in her message this Friday.
Zilis thanked Musk for their children and expressed her hope that they could be great friends and co-parent the children.
Last May, Zilis testified before a federal court in California regarding the relationship she maintained with Musk, as part of the lawsuit the tycoon filed against OpenAI, which he ultimately lost.
In her testimony, the executive explained that the two had a brief romantic encounter in 2016 and that, subsequently, they built a close friendship and a professional relationship while she was working for Tesla.
Years later, they decided to become parents through in vitro fertilization and maintain a relationship focused on their children.
Biographer Walter Isaacson described Zilis more as an intellectual companion to Musk than as a traditional romantic partner, according to information cited by Forbes.
