Prince Harry wants to put his differences with his family behind him and restore his relationship with his father, King Charles III, and his brother, Prince William, according to his new statements. However, his call for reconciliation may not have been received as he expected.
Royal biographer Hugo Vickers believes that his public statements can be interpreted as a “challenge” to the monarchy, rather than an attempt to make peace. This is what he commented on Harry's statements.
As context, during an interview with GQ magazine, Harry asserted that reconciling is essential, especially in light of everything happening in the world. He also acknowledged that family problems are something many people can relate to, and he made his stance clear about wanting to reconcile with his family despite there being people who do not want it to happen.
Regarding this, Vickers told Page Six that Charles and William have chosen to remain silent and believes that differences should be resolved in private, without further statements to the media as Harry has done since he moved to the United States with his wife and now upon his return to the United Kingdom.

He stated that although Harry may not be looking to provoke his family, his moves can convey a different message. Vickers questioned the recent public appearances of the Prince and Meghan Markle in the United Kingdom, including their first joint visit to Nottingham.
“Although Harry may not intend for his actions to be a challenge, they will inevitably be interpreted that way, and that is unfortunate,” noted the author of the book Elizabeth: The Queen: A Personal Story.
And he added: “To the public, Harry is a distraction. His presence risks creating the impression that he poses a challenge to the monarchy.” “He has complicated the situation a lot, and only he is to blame,” he noted.
For the royal expert, these engagements have made the public think that the Sussexes are resuming royal duties, despite the fact that they ceased to be active members of the monarchy in 2020 and despite the King's statements regarding the couple's status as private citizens not linked to the Crown.
The relationship with his older brother seems to be one of the biggest obstacles to reconciliation.
According to Vickers, the heir to the throne is not necessarily acting hostiley against his brother, but has many responsibilities, including his family and concerns over the health of Charles III and his wife, Kate Middleton. A palace source cited by Page Six assured that William does not want a relationship with Harry and is maintaining a firm stance.
