According to reports in the British press, the couple is considering a return to the United States only a few months after settling in the UK. Although it is believed the reason is their poor relationship with the royal family and the slim chances of them returning to the monarchy, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would go to spend the school holidays with their children in the United States, although their plans have not yet been confirmed.
Rumors about a potential Christmas away from the UK arose after Harry and Meghan were linked to an eventual return to life in the European country. However, sources cited by The Mirror indicate that the Duke and Duchess could opt for California during the holidays, a decision that would keep them away from the traditional royal family gatherings at Sandringham to which, it is said, they have not been invited.

“There is a hierarchy. And the King is the one who is in charge. He is the boss, his word is final, so it is better not to put oneself in a difficult situation,” the informant noted.
The last time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex participated in the Sandringham Christmas celebrations was in 2018. A year later, they spent the holidays in Vancouver, Canada, before announcing in 2020 that they would step back from their roles as working members of the royal family.
Since then, Harry's relationship with his father and brother, Prince William, has been marked by disagreements and controversial statements that have seriously affected the Crown's reputation internationally.
If they finally return to California, it is expected that Meghan Markle will be able to reunite with her mother, Doria Ragland, during the holidays. However, the possibility of the couple spending part of the holidays at a country property in the UK or traveling to Portugal has also been mentioned.
