The premiere of the Timbiriche series has put the story of Sasha Sokol and Luis de Llano back under the spotlight, as well as the statements Mariana Garza made about the relationship the two maintained when the singer was a minor. In an interview that resurfaced amidst the controversy, the actress acknowledged that she and other members of the group observed that bond as something strange. "A strange relationship," was how Garza described it.
The actress and singer's testimony gained relevance again after the premiere of the fictional series inspired by the history of Timbiriche, which arrived on ViX on October 9, 2026. In the first released chapters, the case of Sasha Sokol and the music producer was addressed.
Prior to the launch of the series, the original members of the group pointed out that they did not participate in the series nor did they authorize the use of their image, voice, or identity.
What did Mariana Garza say about Sasha Sokol and Luis de Llano?
In an interview from a few years ago with Aurora Valle for the program Confesiones, Mariana Garza spoke about the estrangement she experienced with Sasha Sokol during the period when the singer was involved with Luis de Llano.
The actress explained that her friendship with Sasha changed during that period and that, although at the time they perceived that something did not fit, the environment came to address the bond she had with the producer as if it were simply a courtship.
“We were part of that normalization,” acknowledged Garza when analyzing what happened from a different perspective than the one she had in her youth. “We were all there observing a relationship that was strange,” she expressed.
The Timbiriche member also recalled the impact that Sokol's public statement in March 2022 had on her companions. As she recounted, her friend's statement led to a re-examination of a story they had witnessed without dimensioning all its consequences at the time.

Mariana Garza recounted that her relationship with Sasha Sokol deteriorated during the phase when the singer began her bond with Luis de Llano. Over time, both were able to talk about what had happened to their friendship.
“The only thing that happened is that our relationship, mine with Sa, ceased to be (...) our friendship was broken,” she added.

Sasha Sokol publicly reported in March 2022 that she had a relationship with Luis de Llano when she was 14 and he was 39. The singer pointed out that the bond was marked by a difference in age and a power dynamic, and she questioned the fact that the producer publicly presented it as a romance.
