Addis Tuñón broke her silence regarding the complaint that Maribel Guardia filed against Imelda Tuñón and the latest controversy involving the young woman and the 67-year-old actress; the entertainment journalist made her stance clear and backed her niece. "She knows what she is doing," the communicator said during an encounter with the media.
The controversy between Maribel Guardia and Imelda Tuñón added a new reaction after Addis Tuñón spoke about the legal process her family member is facing.
Amidst the accusations related to the death of Julián Figueroa, Addis explained that she maintains frequent communication with Imelda and has been looking after her during this time. However, she avoided issuing a judgment on her statements regarding the medications she obtained for the singer, as well as the complaint filed by Maribel Guardia.
When questioned by the press about the decision by Maribel and Marco Chacón’s lawyer not to file protective measures against Imelda, with the intention that the young woman continues to speak in the media and on social networks, Addis Tuñón commented: "What is said in the media, I believe, is not transcendental. I have been criticized a lot, but my only intervention or the only time I was involved on a personal level was for the good of the minor; everything else is media-related. Even the legal side is not my concern, I have nothing to say."
Regarding whether she advises Imelda Tuñón to watch her statements and avoid speaking out, the journalist noted the following: "What I talk about with Imelda is as a family member and never with a microphone or a camera; she knows what she is doing. I have no interference nor do I have influence."
Regarding how Imelda Tuñón’s son is doing, she said that "he is fine and his family is a present support network," however, she refused to provide information about the minor’s whereabouts. "It is not my place to give that information," she responded when asked if José Julián is in Mexico or in the United States.
The journalist noted that she has been looking after her family member and recalled that, when Imelda arrived in Mexico City, her mother asked her to be available in case she needed help.

Why did Maribel Guardia file a complaint against Imelda Tuñón?
The complaint is related to statements that Imelda Tuñón made about the medications she obtained for Julián Figueroa, who died in April 2023.
Imelda related that she had lied about her own symptoms to a psychiatrist to obtain medications that she subsequently provided to the singer. Following these statements, Maribel Guardia went to the authorities to have the facts and a possible connection to the death of her son investigated.
