Ben Affleck visited Mexico once again, this time to present his latest film Animals, and he did not hesitate to declare the love and admiration he has for the country. What did he say? Here we give you all the details.
During the premiere of his film alongside international stars such as Kerry Washington, Luis Gerardo Méndez, Adriana Paz, and Matt Damon, Affleck surrendered to our country and expressed how happy he felt to present his new work in front of a crowd of fans who gathered at the Mitikah shopping center in Mexico City this weekend.

While speaking about his project in front of his followers, Ben said he was “very lucky” to be received with such warmth, and also said it was great to be in a country that he loves and that is so important to him and his career: “It is a great pleasure to be here, in this country that I love. Thank you, Mexico, thank you very much. It is incredible,” he said.
And he added: “For me, Mexico has always been very important. I think this country is incredible. I love it and seeing so many people here is incredible.” These statements made the fans respond with euphoria and mutual admiration: “Ben, brother, you are now Mexican,” the fans shouted in unison.

During the interviews he gave at the presentation, Ben even spoke in Spanish and expressed his desire to participate in a telenovela at some point in his life; before the microphone, he said he wanted to get a role in one of these productions.
In fact, he took the opportunity to pronounce the title of the Mexican telenovela Dos Mujeres, Un Camino, in clear Spanish and with a neutral accent.
The fans were not the only ones who showed their affection for Ben; the Mexican actor Luis Gerardo Méndez also celebrated having worked with the Argo star and expressed the admiration he has for him.
“Working with Affleck has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my career; he is a brilliant director, a powerful actor, and a great friend,” noted the star of Club de Cuervos and Mentiras.
The thriller Animals will arrive on Netflix on October 9; it was directed by and starred in by Ben Affleck. The film follows a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife, whose seemingly perfect life falls apart when their child is kidnapped.
Ben Affleck has a long history with Mexico
The Oscar winner lived in Mexico for a time during the 80s, when his career was just taking off. As he recounted in an interview with Kelly Clarkson, he learned to speak Spanish while working on a production at age 13.
“I did a small children's series when I was young, and at 13, that season, that year, it was in Mexico. So I was in Mexico for a year, and that’s how I got it,” he recalled in the interview.
Every time the actor can, he returns to Mexico, whether for work or just passing through. In addition to Animals, he came to present Batman vs Superman in 2016; during the interview he gave on the red carpet, the celebrity surprised his fans by speaking Spanish clearly, even telling jokes and sharing his history with the country.
