Imelda Garza Tuñón went to the Reclusorio Norte to request protective measures against Maribel Guardia, Marco Chacón, and their lawyer, Alonso Beceiro, after they have accused her in recent days of health-related crimes, the potential homicide of Julián Figueroa, and abandonment of the minor, José Julián. Imelda's lawyers denounced that their client has been the subject of a "media lynching."
The confrontation between Imelda Tuñón and Maribel Guardia has not ended and, as the days go by, it is becoming increasingly complicated; the family and legal conflict continues with various proceedings involving Julián Figueroa's will and the alleged delivery of controlled substances to Maribel Guardia's son.
Following the scandal caused by Imelda's statements in which she claimed she lied to her psychiatrist to obtain medication for Julián, Maribel took legal action that ended up generating an unexpected reaction from Tuñón, as the young woman reported on social media that she had left the country with her son, only to later assert that she had not.
Hours after this information transpired, Imelda, accompanied by her lawyers, appeared at the Reclusorio Norte criminal courts to ask the authorities for protective measures against Maribel, her husband, and Alonso Beceiro, who legally represents the 67-year-old actress.
In a meeting with the media outside the prison (which was picked up by Tony Stars TV), lawyer Anel Beltrán said that the protective measures are permanent and were requested due to "the media situation that has been occurring lately."
She specified that the hearing they attended was to request protective measures in favor of Imelda to "avoid this media lynching, and all the interviews that have been given and all the statements that have been made should be avoided to allow us to work legally."
When asked if it was true that Maribel's former daughter-in-law had gone to the United States, the lawyer said that "it is not true," although she specified that Imelda can freely dispose of her own movements and those of her minor child.
"The child is very well, we appreciate your concern very much; she is exercising her motherhood, there is no legal means that prohibits it," she emphasized.
Regarding the accusation of child abandonment, Imelda's legal representative said that "they were unaware of it"; regarding the accusation of alleged homicide, she commented that "they have not yet been notified of anything."
"We do not watch the interviews given by the lawyers; they will have to see how to notify us through legal channels and we will address it," she argued.
