A few days before the premiere of Timbiriche, the new ViX series, the members of the Mexican group expressed their rejection of the production and clarified that none of them participated in its creation or were consulted about what would be told in each of the episodes. What did Timbiriche say about the new ViX series?

In the statement, signed by Alix Bauer, Diego Schoening, Mariana Garza, Erik Rubín, Benny Ibarra, and Sasha Sökol, the singers of "Tú y yo somos uno mismo" noted that they are aware the production is presented as a fictionalized story that "may mix real facts with situations that never happened."

However, they considered it important to make a distinction, as "behind the characters the public will see are real people: us, our families, and other people with whom we have shared experiences beyond our professional lives."

Timbiriche pointed out that "there is a huge difference between being inspired by an era and building fiction around recognizable, living people, without having listened to them or involved them."

Finally, the group reiterated that the production about to be released "is not the story of Timbiriche told by us," although they left open the possibility of narrating their own version in the future.

"Perhaps one day we will decide to tell it, but then, it will be with respect for those of us who lived it and in our own voice."
