The complaint was filed on September 24, 2026, as reported by Alonso Beceiro, Maribel Guardia's lawyer, on Javier Ceriani's program.
The litigator stated that the decision to file the complaint arose after analyzing Imelda's public statements and other elements related to the case. Likewise, Maribel's defense maintained that the statements regarding the procurement and delivery of medications must be investigated by the authorities.

On her Instagram account, Imelda shared a story hours after news of the complaint filed by Maribel against her circulated: "Thanks to all the people who are sending me so many blessings and who keep me and my baby in their prayers, may God multiply it by 7 for you. The truth will come out and God will always be with us helping us as he has done until now. Because there are no demons that can stand against him, Amen," is the message she wrote, which was identified as a direct response to her former mother-in-law.

The origin of the new controversy lies in an interview that Imelda Tuñón gave to the Mesa Cero podcast. During the conversation, Julián Figueroa's former partner related that the singer had severe sleep problems, as well as anxiety, but that, according to her version, the specialists treating him did not want to prescribe certain medications.
Given that situation, Tuñón said she would go to a psychiatrist and tell her that she had the symptoms that Julián was actually suffering from, with the goal of obtaining the prescriptions.
"I lied to the psychiatrist the whole time," she acknowledged during the interview. She then explained that the pills she obtained were consumed by Maribel Guardia's son.
