Ana María Alvarado lashed out against the new Timbiriche series, considering it re-victimizes by revisiting episodes related to her history with producer Luis de Llano. What did the journalist say?

The host of Sale el Sol questioned the Televisa production for including a message of support for abuse victims while, from her perspective, it uses a painful experience to obtain commercial benefits, such as the sexual abuse Sokol suffered when she was 14 at the hands of De Llano, who was 39 when they maintained an intimate relationship.

“Sasha Sokol deserves respect. With the Timbiriche series, they are re-victimizing her and profiting from her pain,” Alvarado expressed on social media. The communicator also criticized the production for including a caption inviting people who have experienced situations of abuse to seek support from the Association for the Integral Development of Violated Persons (Adivac), as she considered that this message does not justify the use of a true story.

“They include the caption: ‘If you or someone close to you is living or has lived a situation of abuse, seek support at adivac.org’ as if that were helping, only to justify that they are using a true story,” the presenter added.

The controversy is related to the relationship Sasha Sokol had with Luis de Llano when she was a minor and he held a position of authority in the music industry.

The singer was part of Timbiriche from the age of 11 and left the group at 16. In March 2022, she spoke publicly about the case again and took legal action against the producer for the events she reported.

The case had judicial consequences: in 2023, a civil ruling favored Sokol in her lawsuit for moral damages and ordered reparation measures.

On June 25, 2025, the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation unanimously rejected the amparo promoted by De Llano, thereby upholding the conviction. The singer has stated that she seeks for the reparations to contribute to supporting victims of sexual violence and child abuse.

The controversy also reached the original members of , who distanced themselves from the series released a few days ago on the streaming platform ViX.

In a statement, they affirmed that they did not participate in its creation, were not consulted about the stories narrated, and did not authorize the use of their image, voice, or identity. Furthermore, they warned that the production is presented as a fiction that could combine real events with situations that never happened.

The musicians stressed that there is a difference between being inspired by an era and building a fictional story around real, recognizable people without listening to or involving them.

For its part, the legal representation of reported that it notified the company, the platform, and the production house of its opposition to the commercial use of the image and rights of its client in the series. His lawyers assured that they will act through the corresponding institutional and judicial channels.
