Are Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton feuding? The upcoming publication of an authorized biography of the businesswoman has once again put the spotlight on the relationship between the two celebrities, who have known each other for years and shared a key stage in their lives before Kim achieved global fame.
The controversy arose after Jonathan Van Meter, author of Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, revealed that Paris Hilton had allegedly canceled an interview he was seeking for the book 17 times. According to the journalist, the situation caused Kardashian's anger and reignited an old tension between them.
In statements published by The Hollywood Reporter, Van Meter explained that, when he approached Kim to interview Paris, the businesswoman told him he could contact her, although he had to coordinate everything through her team.
The journalist related that he sent questions and got in touch with one of Hilton's assistants to organize the conversation. However, according to his testimony, the interview was canceled 17 times over approximately four months.
Van Meter stated that, after so many attempts, the cancellations seemed more interesting to him than the answers Paris might have given for the book.
"In the end, I thought the cancellations were more interesting than anything she could tell me," declared Jonathan Van Meter, who asserted that Kim was very upset when he explained what happened. According to his interpretation, the episode seemed to awaken an "old irritation" between the two friends.
