The departure of Yanet García from La Casa de los Famosos 2026 continues to be a hot topic. After fans of the Monterrey native expressed their dissatisfaction on social media because Galilea Montijo called her a “piece of furniture,” the host stepped out to clarify the controversy and asserted that her words were “misinterpreted.”
Galilea Montijo explained that she was not referring solely to Yanet García and clarified that she did not kick her out of the reality show; rather, it was her housemates and the public who made the decision.
Here we tell you what Galilea Montijo said about Yanet García and how she responded to the controversy.
What did Galilea Montijo say about Yanet García before her departure from La Casa de los Famosos 2026?
The controversy arose after Galilea Montijo called Yanet García a “piece of furniture” during her exit from La Casa de los Famosos 2026, as Galilea Montijo asserted that she would prefer to be the first one evicted from the reality show rather than be perceived by the public as a housemate who does not generate content.
“I would rather be the first one eliminated from La Casa de los Famosos than be called a piece of furniture. I would go cry at my house,” she expressed.
How did Galilea Montijo respond to the controversy with Yanet García?
In an interview with the press, Galilea Montijo asserted that the public misinterpreted her words, as she was not referring only to Yanet García as a “piece of furniture,” but also to the other two housemates who were in exile, Ese Pérez and Luis Chaparro.
“People misinterpreted it. We clarified it yesterday. In fact, Marie Claire was with me. When I said that, I was never referring to Yanet; in fact, the three of them were still behind the screen, and I told Marie Claire, ‘It’s like you, I would have preferred to be the first to leave than to be called a piece of furniture,’” she explained.
The host added that it was horrible to be called a piece of furniture, but that she also hadn't kicked Yanet out; instead, it was her housemates and the public.
“In fact, I agree with the public: it’s horrible to be called a piece of furniture, I mean, it’s not nice. And I was talking about all three, whoever left for being a piece of furniture, and besides, I didn’t kick her out, her own housemates did, and the public drove the three of them whom they considered pieces of furniture. I never considered Ese Pérez like that, but it was the public’s decision,” she detailed.
What did Marie Claire say about the controversy with Yanet García?
Yanet García also had a tense moment with host Marie Claire, as when the Monterrey native asserted that “I wasn't eliminated by the people, but by my housemates,” Claire replied: “We have to talk because that is not how you have it in your little head, huh? So don't do crazy things.”
Regarding this controversy, Marie Claire explained on her social networks that she responded in that way because she didn't want her to think that her housemates didn't like her.
“When she told me, ‘yes, well, the public had to send me to the chopping block with my other two housemates and the housemates decided to kick me out,’ and I didn't agree, when she told me that, I approached her and said, ‘don't think that,’ as in, don't think that your housemates didn't like you. That was what I wanted to convey. Not that I was brainwashing her that ‘no, it wasn't like that, it was the public, right?’ We all knew the dynamics.”
