The shooter who attacked the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis "was filled with hate," Minnesota's acting attorney general, Joseph Thompson, asserted on Thursday, noting that the attacker "loved" other perpetrators of mass shootings committed in schools across the United States.
"I am not going to dignify the attacker's words by repeating them; they are horrible and vile. But, in short, the attacker wanted to see children suffer," stated Prosecutor Thompson during a press conference regarding Robin Westman, the 23-year-old identified as responsible for firing at the school, causing the deaths of two children.
According to the prosecutor, the investigation and analysis of the manifesto published by Westman hours before the attack reveal "his plans, his mental state, and his hatred for different groups. Although the attacker seemed to hate us all, there is one group he idolized: other school shooters and serial killers."
