Why did Chicharito Hernández decide to play soccer again?
In July of this year, Javier Hernández announced his signing with Atletico Dallas of the USL Championship, after a period in which he considered retiring from soccer.
At that time, the former Chivas player confessed that the club had brought back his desire to play.
"They brought back my desire to play soccer, it's that clear. If I took a sabbatical year, it was because I didn't want to play anymore and I was thinking about whether I was going to retire or not, because that's how I ended up in Guadalajara, with no desire to play soccer," he expressed.
Likewise, he revealed that, during that sabbatical year, he prioritized his mental health and his life. Although, he assured that signing with Atletico Dallas was a "blessing".
"I prioritized my mental health and my life by not playing soccer, and having this opportunity suddenly arrive is a blessing. I want to wake up, go train, be in the locker room, and get back on the field."
