Hijo de Fishman was released after being identified for the alleged crime of manslaughter related to the death of referee Gerardo Germán Pineda, known as El Búho, following a wrestling event in Hidalgo.
The law firm Magallán, Reyes y Asociados, which is handling the wrestler's defense, reported that a reparation agreement was reached and confirmed that the legal process against the wrestler has concluded.
The news of his release and the agreement reached was confirmed by El Patrón Espectáculos Lucha Libre, the promoter that organized the event where the incident occurred and provided details on the defense of Hijo de Fishman after the referee's death was confirmed "in the early hours of October 7th."
In a video released by the company, a lawyer from the firm explained the wrestler's legal situation and noted that legal efforts allowed for the agreement to be reached.
"Specifically, it should be noted that, through the firm's efforts, a reparation agreement was reached in which Mr. Fishman is now free," stated the legal representative. He also indicated that the proceedings against the wrestler had concluded.
The statement did not provide details regarding his arrest or alleged guilt, nor did it address what happened to referee Gerardo Germán Pineda.

The death of El Búho occurred after a match in the ring involving Hijo de Fishman during a main event in Mineral de la Reforma, Hidalgo. According to initial reports on the case, the referee suffered an attack with a move known as the piledriver.
Following the events, it was reported that Hijo de Fishman had been detained by the Public Prosecutor's Office while his potential responsibility for the referee's death was investigated. The case drew attention from Mexican wrestling fans due to the severity of the incident, as such wrestling techniques are prohibited due to their high risk.
In a statement issued after the passing of El Búho, El Patrón Espectáculos reported that it would provide legal support to the wrestling star: "Our company is closely following the situation and has provided legal guidance and assistance to Hijo de Fishman, so that the corresponding process is carried out in accordance with the law and before the competent authorities."
