Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior has renewed his contract with Real Madrid, linking him to the club until June 30, 2032, according to a statement from the club, which defines him as "one of the most important players in one of the most successful stages" of its history.
The Brazilian player's contract was set to expire in June 2027, which is why the 'merengue' team was interested in finalizing the extension before he could leave at zero cost, as a free agent, in the next summer transfer window.
"Vinicius Jr. arrived at Real Madrid in July 2018, at 18 years old. In his eight seasons defending our jersey, he has played 375 matches, in which he has scored 128 goals and won 14 titles: 2 Champions League titles, 3 Club World Cups, 2 UEFA Super Cups, 3 La Liga titles, 1 Copa del Rey, and 3 Spanish Super Cups," the club recalls.
Furthermore, Real Madrid highlights the goals in the two Champions League finals he has in his record (2022 and 2024), as well as the FIFA The Best award in 2024, the FIFA World XI that same year, and the Champions League Team of the Season (2022, 2023, and 2024).
Vinicius had joined the team's preseason this Monday, after enjoying a vacation following his participation in the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada with Brazil. This Wednesday, he worked alongside his teammates while, in the Madrid offices, executives José Ángel Sánchez and Juni Calafat met to address the matter, which has concluded with a renewal.
