In Mexico, the Federal Labor Law (LFT) establishes that all Mexican workers under the Salaries and Wages and Income Assimilated to Salaries tax regime have the right to receive an annual payment as a Christmas bonus.

Who receives their Christmas bonus in November 2026?
Among the people who could receive their Christmas bonus in advance during November are IMSS retirees under the 1973 Law Regime, corresponding to pensions for Old Age or Seniority Unemployment.
ISSSTE retirees also receive their Christmas bonus in installments. For 2026, the first part is scheduled for the first half of November.
Other employees who receive their Christmas bonus in advance are all those who are public servants in various federal agencies.
While private sector employees are entitled to a Christmas bonus equivalent to fifteen days of salary per year, public servants can receive a minimum bonus of 40 days of salary distributed in two parts, one in November and the second no later than January 15, as indicated by the LFT.
The payment of the first part would arrive just in time to take advantage of the five days of sales, discounts, and promotions of Buen Fin 2026, which will begin on Friday, November 13, and end on Tuesday, November 17.
What is the deadline for paying the Christmas bonus?
According to the Federal Labor Law, private sector workers must receive their Christmas bonus before December 20, 2026. Some companies may pay it early, so not all workers will necessarily receive it on the same date.
Public sector employees must receive their full Christmas bonus no later than January 15, 2027.
