U.S. President Donald Trump insisted this Saturday on his promise to deliver $5,000 "checks" to every American adult if Republicans win the legislative elections in November, while also announcing a $100 subsidy for 20 million retirees from a Medicare health insurance fund.
In several election-focused videos posted on the social network Truth, Trump announced these payments and asked voters to go to the polls on November 3, acting as if he were on the ballot, even though these elections will decide control of the majorities in Congress.

"If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate, I will give every adult citizen $5,000. Republicans can do it, and Democrats cannot. Because we are bringing in a massive volume of money through tariffs and record-breaking economic success," the president asserted.
"If Democrats win, we will have an economic depression like the one in 1929," said Trump, who reiterated that with the Republicans, he will put "$5,000 in the pockets" of Americans, something he has dubbed the "Trump Dividend."
Trump acknowledged that the cost of the payment would be around $1 trillion, as experts estimate, which would increase the United States' deficit, but which the president claims would be offset by promises of investment in the country that he calculates at "$21 trillion."
However, neither the White House's own figures nor announcements from the private sector or foreign governments prove that investment figure, which would represent two-thirds of the entire annual Gross Domestic Product of the United States.
Another measure announced this Saturday was the delivery of a $100 subsidy to 20 million American retirees for the payment of coverage for the public "Medicare Part B" program, which includes doctor visits and tests and costs $202 per month.
The funds will come from $2 billion from the so-called Medicare Improvement Fund, established in 2008 to protect health plan coverage for retirees and people with disabilities.
These announcements come a month before the legislative elections in November, for which polls predict a major Republican defeat and the possibility of losing control of both chambers of Congress.
Trump has said that if they lose the legislative elections, Democrats will try to approve an impeachment against him to remove him from power, while the president's advisors believe that he and his circle will be subject to investigations for potential corruption.
The president asked today to go vote on November 3 to "defeat the radical left's agenda" and requested that voters cast their ballots as if his name were the one on them.
