Last Tuesday, October 20, 18-year-old Gabriela Rodríguez Tezoco passed away after falling from an amusement ride installed at the Traditional Festivals of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur. The accident was recorded on video.

A video is circulating on social media that shows the moment Gabriela Rodríguez Tezoco fell from the amusement ride known as 'El Péndulo' (The Pendulum).
In the recording, made by one of the attraction's users, it can be seen that the seat's safety bar apparently opened, causing the young woman to slip and fall to the ground.
What did the authorities say about the accident in Cabo San Lucas?
Through a statement published on social media, the Los Cabos City Council reported that, after the accident, Gabriela was immediately treated at the scene by Mexican Red Cross emergency personnel. Subsequently, she was taken to the nearest hospital for medical evaluation.
However, on Wednesday, October 21, authorities confirmed that the 18-year-old "lost her life despite the efforts of health personnel."
Likewise, they expressed their condolences and solidarity with her family and loved ones.
"We join with respect and solidarity in the grief of Gabriela's family, her friends, and her loved ones," they noted.
What were the causes of the accident in Cabo San Lucas?
On the other hand, the Los Cabos City Council reported that it will be the "Office of the Attorney General of the State of Baja California Sur that will be in charge of determining the causes of the incident and legal responsibilities accordingly."
Meanwhile, the municipal president, Christian Agúndez, confirmed through Facebook that the amusement ride "has been suspended."
In addition, he reported that he ordered "a preventive inspection of the fair's amusement rides to ensure they operate in safe conditions."

Who was Gabriela Rodríguez Tezoco, the young woman who died in Cabo San Lucas?
After her death, it was revealed that Gabriela Rodríguez Tezoco was a student at the College of Bachelors of the State of Baja California Sur (Cobach), Campus 10.
Through its social media accounts, the institution bid farewell to the young woman and expressed its condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones.
Additionally, they remembered her with the following message:
"We will remember you for your beautiful smile, your kind demeanor, and that special warmth you left with those who were fortunate enough to know you. There are people who, even when they depart, leave indelible marks on our hearts, and you will always be one of them... May your smile remain alive in our memory and may your memory always be a light that accompanies us."
