The President of the United States, , once again insulted a journalist on Friday, this time from NBC News, calling her a "terrible reporter" after she repeatedly asked him to be quiet while she tried to ask him a question.

The incident took place during a media appearance at the White House before departing for an election rally in Fort Myers (Florida), when the reporter was trying to ask him about sexual abuse allegations against the mother of the Democratic candidate for governor of Ohio, Amy Acton.

Trump gestured for her to be quiet, raising his index finger, while the journalist insisted on asking about the matter.

The President asked her which media outlet she worked for, and when she replied that it was NBC News, he described the network as "one of the worst out there."

A similar episode occurred last Wednesday, when the president called a CNN journalist "a fool" and another from ABC News "stupid" as they asked him about the release of an American detained in Russia.

"You don't know what you're talking about. You have a low IQ, you're a fool, and you work for CNN," he snapped at Kaitlan Collins, one of the most well-known faces of the network.

A day earlier, on Tuesday, Trump also told a reporter to shut up who was questioning him insistently during an event in the Oval Office: "Shut up! Shut up! What's wrong with you, are you sick?"

The increase in insults toward reporters comes just days before the midterm elections on November 3, in which polls point to a Democratic victory.

Furthermore, since September, Trump has been trying to ban journalists from CNN, Ms Now, and Politico from accessing the White House, dissatisfied with their coverage of his administration, although a judge has temporarily blocked the ban.
