Seven men were arrested after allegedly assaulting two Traffic Control officers and a private security guard during an operation to remove motorcycles parked on Motolinia Street, in the Cuauhtémoc borough, reported the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City.

According to the information released by the agency, the events occurred while actions were being carried out for the recovery of spaces in the Historic Center, specifically for the removal of motorcycles parked in the area.

What happened during the operation on Motolinia?

The SSC indicated that, during the operation, several men assaulted two Traffic Control officers and a member of private security.

Following the assault, Mexico City police officers arrested seven men, who were presented to the Public Prosecutor's Office to continue with the investigations and determine their legal status.

One of the traffic police officers and the private security guard required medical attention. Both were transferred to a hospital to receive evaluation and specialized medical care.

Operation sought to recover spaces in the Historic Center

The deployment was carried out on Motolinia Street, in the Historic Center of Mexico City, as part of the actions to recover spaces occupied by parked motorcycles.

The intervention is part of the security and regulation operations carried out by capital authorities in this area to keep spaces intended for mobility and public use free.

The SSC indicated that it will continue with these actions to guarantee safe spaces for the citizenry.
