Elements of the Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) arrested five people allegedly linked to a home robbery in the Gustavo A. Madero (GAM) borough, who used orange uniforms to pose as street cleaners and avoid raising suspicion.
During the operation, carried out in the Iztacalco borough, they were found in possession of doses of apparent drugs, cell phones, cash, and uniform-style clothing, as well as a vehicle possibly used in other illicit activities.

After learning of the robbery at a home in the Cuarta Sección of San Juan de Aragón, SSC personnel began investigation and intelligence work after it was reported that the alleged perpetrators were wearing clothing similar to that of urban service employees.
The investigation included the analysis of video surveillance cameras from the C2 North Command and Control Center, where a white vehicle related to the crime was detected at the intersection of Canal de Río Churubusco and Avenida Sur 8, in the Agrícola Oriental neighborhood.
Upon noticing the police presence, one of the occupants threw a wrapped package and tried to flee. Two men got out of the vehicle and were subdued.
During the inspection, the following were seized:
- Seis bolsas negras, con aparente marihuana
- Cuatro teléfonos celulares
- Dos camisolas y un pantalón color naranja
- Dinero en efectivo
- Un vehículo compacto blanco
While the arrest was being carried out, two women and one man tried to hinder police work, struggling with the officers, so they were also arrested after the situation was brought under control.
The five detainees are:
- Dos mujeres de 55 y 61 años
- Tres hombres de 15, 31 y 38 años
All were informed of their legal rights and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
According to preliminary information, the detainees possibly belong to a family criminal cell, dedicated to home robbery and drug dealing in different areas of Mexico City.
