The UNAM confirmed that it will administer an in-person control exam to some of the applicants who participated in the 2026-2027 undergraduate admission process, after detecting statistical anomalies and signs of possible irregularities in the first entrance exam, which was taken entirely online.
The decision was announced by Rector Leonardo Lomelí, who explained that the goal is not to carry out a new selection process, but to verify that the results obtained truly correspond to the performance of the applicants.
The measure comes after a technical commission reviewed the admission competition following reports of alleged use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), identity theft, and external support during the exam.
