United States Vice President JD Vance responded on Thursday to a protester who interrupted his speech at the Republican Party's mid-term convention in Dallas while waving a Mexican flag, an episode he used to champion American nationalism and attack the left.
"If you love Mexico so much, go there. I'll buy your plane ticket," said Vance after the protester displayed the Mexican flag during his speech.

The press present at the Republican convention, ahead of the mid-term elections, held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, reported that an individual with a tricolor flag was protesting in one of the aisles of the venue when the confrontation with the Vice President occurred.
The Vice President later described the flag as a "symbol of the far left" and maintained that the man should have shown the American flag. The protester was removed from the venue by security personnel.
This is the first Republican convention organized specifically mid-term, and it brings together party leaders and candidates at a time when Republicans are looking to maintain their majorities in Congress.
In his speech, Vance presented the elections as a battle to preserve the "birthright" of Americans and accused Democrats of promoting policies that threaten the family, security, the economy, and national identity.
He also linked irregular immigration with competition for jobs and housing, and claimed that Americans had seen their country "stolen" and handed over to foreigners.
