According to the outlet, this is not the first time Wanjun Xie has spread false information, as he was previously pointed out for spreading rumors about the death of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
On X, Wanjun Xie claimed that Kim Jong-un had suffered a severe cerebral hemorrhage after collapsing and had been taken to a hospital in Beijing, because North Korea did not have the necessary conditions to treat him.
However, according to his version, the North Korean leader had died.
In addition, he claimed that his body had been secretly transported back to North Korea and that his death had been hidden.

According to NMÁS, in September 2026, Seoul's intelligence agency revealed that Kim Jong-un weighed 140 kilograms and was "extremely obese."
