Tricia McLaughlin, DHS assistant secretary, accused the woman of being "a violent agitator who used her vehicle as a weapon, attempting to run over officers in an attempt to kill them," which she classified as an act of "domestic terrorism," stating that an ICE agent, who "feared for his life," fired "defensive shots."

"The alleged perpetrator was shot and is deceased. The ICE officers who were injured are expected to make a full recovery," the official indicated on her social media.
