After the multi-homicide of Jonathan Meléndez and his family, Diego N, identified by the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office as the likely perpetrator, reportedly attempted to go out for tacos in Mexico City.

According to journalist Carlos Jiménez, the man left the Atizapán de Zaragoza area and headed toward Mixcoac, to the restaurant El Charco de las Ranas, but after finding it closed, he left for the Del Valle neighborhood.

“After killing an entire family, he went to El Charco de las Ranas in Mixcoac. But it was already past midnight and the place was already closed,” reported Jiménez, who attributed the information to sources close to the case, although the Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) has not confirmed that detail.

"He wanted to have tacos for dinner after having killed an entire family. Since he didn't succeed, he went to the Del Valle neighborhood to see what he could find to eat," the journalist added.

Finally, he said that "while this guy was trying to have his tacos, the police and the prosecutor's office were discovering the entire crime scene."

Why would Diego N have murdered Jonathan Meléndez?

The Prosecutor's Office maintains as one of the main lines of investigation that Diego N and Gerardo N were seeking a significant amount of money in cryptocurrencies that they allegedly believed was in Jonathan's possession.

The investigation also points to Diego and Jonathan having a prior relationship as business partners in rentals for tourists, which would have facilitated access to the home.

Has Diego Rosen already been declared guilty?

No. Although Diego Sebastián “N” was arrested and is identified by the authorities as the likely perpetrator, there is no final sentence yet.
