The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Monday that he will give a one million dollar reward to anyone who reports any case of fraud in the Congressional elections on November 3 or in past elections.
"Anyone who reports electoral fraud in past elections, or in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections, will receive a payment of $1,000,000 following the arrest and conviction of those who committed said fraud!", the president wrote on his Truth Social network.
Trump continues to refuse to acknowledge his defeat in the 2020 presidential election against Democrat Joe Biden and frequently claims that the election "was stolen," despite there being no evidence of fraud that would alter the result.
This Saturday, after voting early in Florida, the Republican president declared to reporters: "I ran and won in 2016, and I won in 2020 too, but things didn't turn out that way. It was a rigged election, but I won by millions of votes."
On July 16, Trump gave a prime-time address to the nation in which he insisted on his accusations regarding the 2020 elections, again without providing conclusive evidence of the alleged fraud.
In the current midterm elections, one-third of the Senate and all 435 seats in the House of Representatives will be renewed, in which the Republican Party maintains narrow majorities.
The polls favor the Democrats, who would have a great chance of gaining control of the Lower House.
Given this, 70% of Americans do not trust that Trump will accept the results if the Republicans lose the election, according to a poll last week by The Washington Post, ABC News, and Ipsos.
