Journalist Joanna Vega-Biestro warned that she could take legal action against Gala Montes, after the former contestant of La Casa de los Famosos 2026 threatened to harass her daughter, who is a minor.
“My daughter is a minor, she is a third party completely unrelated to this situation... If necessary, I will exercise the appropriate legal actions to protect the integrity, safety, and interests of my daughter and myself,” she declared.

Why did the fight between Joanna Vega-Biestro and Gala Montes start?
The dispute arose after Joanna Vega-Biestro, host of Sale el Sol, asserted that Gala Montes was expelled from La Casa de los Famosos 2026 for physically assaulting a psychologist and pointed out that she was consuming illegal substances.
Gala responded that the information Joanna shared publicly about her departure from the reality show was not true. Furthermore, she accused the journalist of harassing her and her family, and threatened to go to her daughter's kindergarten to harass her.
“You don't want me to go to your daughter's kindergarten one day and stand in front of her, right? So show respect, I'm not going to do it, but that is what you are doing. So show respect or I will make you show respect, Joanna,” Gala said.
What did Joanna Vega-Biestro respond to Gala Montes?
Following Gala Montes' statements, Joanna Vega-Biestro ensured on Sale el Sol that the information she shared about the actress's departure from La Casa de los Famosos 2026 was truthful. She also stated that exercising her profession did not make her a harasser.
“The information I shared reached me directly through a reliable source, I corroborated it before making it public... I didn't invent anything. I didn't lie about the information I gave... Exercising my journalistic work... does not mean harassing, pestering, or stalking anyone.”
The host asserted that she is open to criticism, as it is part of her job. However, she noted that there are lines that should not be crossed, especially when her daughter, who is a minor, is involved.
“You can question me, contradict me, criticize my work, respond publicly, this is part of doing what I do... but there is an absolute limit here, which is my daughter. My daughter is a minor, she is a third party completely unrelated to this situation, and has absolutely nothing to do with my profession, nor with any difference someone might have with me.”
Joanna noted that she would not respond to threats with more threats and that she was being advised. She also affirmed that, if necessary, she would take legal action against the actress and singer.
“Any expression that could represent a threat or intimidation toward her will be taken with all the seriousness it deserves. If someone has something to complain about regarding my work, let it be with me, not with my daughter. I will not respond to threats with threats nor enter into provocations. I am properly advised. If necessary, I will exercise the appropriate legal actions to protect the integrity, safety, and interests of my daughter and myself.”
To conclude, Joanna declared that differences between adults are resolved between adults and that no child should ever be used as a tool to intimidate or harm third parties.
“My work can be questioned, my daughter must be respected, and I would like to end with something that goes much further than my daughter: ‘Leave the children out of this.’ Differences between adults are resolved between adults; we can argue, confront each other, disagree, and even dislike each other, but no child should ever become a tool to hurt, intimidate, or threaten someone.”
